I made this icing to top an amazing chocolate cake (recipe coming on June 25!!!). It was perfect for the cake, too perfect. I am having trouble keeping my mouth away from it! I made it for a potluck, but my husband got home from work late and we missed it. Now we have a huge thing of chocolate cake with Buttermilk Frosting just sitting here tempting us.

You will have to keep reading to see the cake recipe. But for now, here is the frosting blue print.
Ingredients:
- 1/4 C. butter
- 3 TBSP. buttermilk
- 3 TBSP. unsweetened cocoa powder
- 2 1/4 C. powdered sugar
- 1/2 tsp. vanilla.
Directions:
- In a sauce pan, combine the butter, buttermilk, and cocoa powder. Bring to boiling. Remove from heat and add the powdered sugar and vanilla.
- Beat until smooth. Pour warm frosting over brownies or cake. Let cool.
