I wanted to make sugared, toasted almonds for a salad so I started searching around online for a recipe. I kept finding recipes in which you had to cook up this sauce on the stove to dip the almonds in. I just wasn’t feeling like dirtying an extra pot, so I decided to improvise. It turned out great. Here is how I did it (although there are probably more legit and better ways out there).
Ingredients
- almonds (of any kind and cut)
- brown sugar
- melted butter
- Ziploc baggie
Directions:
1.Combine all ingredients in a plastic baggie and shake until the almonds are well coated. You can add more or less butter and brown sugar, depending on the number of almonds you have.
2. Spread coated almonds out on a baking sheet and bake until the sugar is crunchy and the almonds are toasted (between 5 and 10 minutes).
Sprinkle over salads, deserts, or just eat on their own.

we used to make these in the salad department at the college only we used regular white sugar and we just mixed them up and spread on a cookie sheet and toasted them. We always had to make extra cause everyone would eat them as soon as they got cool enough :}
