I was feeling like making cookies, but I wanted to try something new and unique. So, I pulled out a Betty Crocker Sugar Cookie mix and the fruity pebbles and this is what happened! They turned out kind of chewy in a strange, but slightly addicting way. They are better after they cool down.
INGREDIENTS:
1 Sugar Cookie Mix
1 stick of butter, softened
1 Egg
Fruit Pebbles (how ever many you want)
FROSTING INGREDIENTS:
1 (8 oz) package of cream cheese, softened
1/4 C. butter, softened
1-2 C. powdered sugar
1 tsp. vanilla
DIRECTIONS:
1.Mix together the ingredients for the sugar cookies. Add as many fruity pebbles as you want.
2. Preheat the oven to what ever temperature is on the cookie mix package. (I threw mine away and I can’t remember) Bake it for the called for time.
3. While they are cooking, cream together the cream cheese and butter. Add the vanilla. Then gradually stir in the powdered sugar. Start with one cup and then taste it. If you think it needs more, keep adding it. It just depends on how much cream cheese taste you want.
4. Let the cookies cool. Spread the frosting on top. Sprinkle with fruity pebbles.
Oh, you're making me hungry again!!
So fun! The girls would be in heaven. I don't think I have ever even bought fruity pebbles. Mom always made me feel like they were so bad. (But every once in a while I get a real hankering for that flavor. I might just have to indulge. 🙂
I never get fruity pebbles either. Benj and I never really buy cereal because we eat it like its dessert. But we always get somekind of sugary cereal Christmas. This year I got fruity pebble.
I just stumbled across your page. I had the exact same idea! but I think we had opposite effects, I did a fruity pebble sugar cookie and featured that on my blog. Yours look great!
