As you know, I am featuring Harry Potter themed recipes up until the release of the last movie in the series on July 15th. My previous post was of the infamous Hogsmeade drink, Butter Beer. Today I am going to show you how to make Acid Pop’s. This is a fun, easy, quick idea that you can add to the spread at a Harry Potter movie party, which I think everyone should throw or attend at least once in their life. These suckers are really fun to eat. They explode in your mouth! I just used the original flavors of blow pops, but you can give them even more of a kick by using sour the sour blow pop flavors.
By the way, I was running at the gym today and I saw a little segment on the gym tv about Harry Potter and it showed clips of some of the movies and I think I started to tear up a little just thinking about how the journey is almost over. Don’t make fun of me.
Ingredients:
- 6 or 7 Blow Pop’s
- 2 or 3 packets of pop rocks
- plastic wrap or wax paper
Directions:
1. Unwrap each blow pop.
2. Pour the pop rocks onto a plate.
3. Dip a blow pop in some water or just run it under the sink really fast, to make it sticky. Shake as much water off as you can. You don’t want it to be dripping wet, just sticky.
4. Roll the blow pop in the pop rocks to coat.
5. Wrap in plastic wrap or wax paper.
6. Repeat with each blow pop.

I'm extremely excited and dissapointed that Harry Potter is ending. I've looked forward to the books and movies since elementary school, I guess it's fitting though, since I end school next year! Finishing school (sort of) with the series. I will be sad to see it go. I love your Harry Potter food ideas!
Wouldn't the grandkids love this treat at our next reunion? Let's change the name though. Sure miss you as we watch that Planet Earth series you bought for us. Lydia's kids just beg for those shows. Thank you, thank you.
the grandkids will love these! have to try them the next time they come visit! love and miss you.
Amy, I am so glad that we are friends–and sisters-in-law! 🙂 I am like you, and I have shed a tear or two watching previews of HP #7.5. So I was anxious to get home after our trip to check out your recipes, and I haven't been disappointed! Did you make up this idea? How fun! My kids will love it. I'm thinking we should have a HP family night activity when we finish our marathon in a week or two. I wish I were going to the midnight showing, but we'll have to wait until things die down a bit. 🙂
