My daughter is turning 3 next week and cannot stop talking about the Frozen Fever birthday party that she wants so badly, so I made her these Frozen Fever sugar cookies. Have you seen Frozen Fever? Its the cutest little Disney Short about Anna’s birthday party post-Frozen. Elsa throws her a surprise party, but has a bad cold and keeps sneezing out these little mini snowmen, called Snowgie’s. They are just adorable. My daughter loves them. Some have cute little Olaf buck teeth. Sunflowers are also all over the place in Frozen Fever. On Anna’s dress, on her cake, and included in her many gifts. I love the pop of color. Because I love doing little projects while my husband works nights, I thought I would make these sugar cookies to go along with the cake and keep them in the freezer until her party. I am so excited for my daughter to turn three, but I can’t believe she is that old already. Slow down, time.
To make the Snowgie cookies, I hand cut the dough using a template shared by Youtuber Koalipops. The link for the print-out is on the page of his youtube video. I used white 15 second icing and dropped black 15 second icing on the wet white icing for the face. I used a needle tool to shape the faces as needed. Pretty simple.
To make the sunflower cookies, I traced the clean lid of a small medicine bottle onto the middle of the cookie. I then iced every other petal with 15 second yellow royal icing. I let it crust a little bit and then piped on the remaining petals. Then I used dark brown 15 second icing to fill the middle. When it was completely dry I added accents to the petals with a yellow food marker. I also piped a line of brown frosting around the center of the flower and dipped it in brown sprinkles.
The three cookies were a little sloppier becuase I hand cut them. I didn’t have a three cookie cutter, so I just used a knife and cut them out with the last little bit of dough. I used teal 15 second icing and dropped yellow polk-a-dots in the wet teal. I also sprayed on a little pearl dust just for fun and a little shimmer.
Sometimes I make one random cookie that doesn’t match the rest of the set just to experiment for fun. This time I made a cute little seahorse. He tasted delicious.
There you have it! Fairly simple royal icing Frozen Fever sugar cookies!
Happy Birthday Stella!
P.S. I finished my 30 day food challenge and I have a whole big post about how it went and what I learned.
Of all your many talents, designing and decorating cookies seems to "take the cake"! These little cookies are PERFECTION! Truely a gift! Lucky little Stella!
